Expertise

My career began in design – think Norwegian coffee table books, Vietnamese school websites, Dutch videos on chocolate – but eventually diversified into project management, knowledge management and digital implementation. Throughout all of my work is an inherent streak of detail-oriented, methodical practice.

Project management

Project management has become a formal part of my career over the last five years, but I have been using project managment tools and techniques throughout most of my career.

Although I am easy-going and flexible, I am also a stickler for appropriate planning and consideration before jumping into a piece of work. Understanding the desired outcomes, the possibilities and the impacted audience are key factors for success.

  • Project planning, monitoring and reporting (risks, issues, decisions, gantt charts, status reports, etc)
  • Lean Six Signma Green Belt – process improvement
  • Business analysis
  • Relationship-building
  • Enabling teams

Knowledge management

I was introduced to knowledge management when a former IT manager saw my potential during a government web development project – and I immediately knew it was something in which I would thrive. My organised, pragmatic and user-centered approach align perfectly with the structured work of knowledge management.

My time so far has been spent working with technical vendors and businesses to find creative and functional ways of developing digital ecosystems that foster greater sharing, collaboration and control of knowledge products.

  • SharePoint online and on-prem
  • System structure, administration and maintenance
  • Business analysis
  • Custom list creation, monitoring and management
  • Reporting and analysis

Change management

Though they are often separated, change management is a key part of any successful project.

In my latest role as Senior Change Advisor, I have come to love the various aspects of change management and the incredible importance it plays in the smooth adoption of a new product, system or way of working.

  • Stakeholder mapping
  • Impact assessment
  • Current and future state analyses
  • ADKAR model and PDCA cycle supported by engagement and communication plans, training frameworks, and knowledge products

Design

Although it has taken a back seat, my past design experiences have shaped the creative foundation for my current work, and I take any chance I get to use those skills to ensure clear and engaging processes and products.

Though I no longer actively seek design work, I am happy to accept any opportunities that present themselves.

Courses and certificates

Continuous improvement and upskilling is important to me, and with the ever-changing face of technology it’s a key element to maintaining my skills. Tools and technology

There are hundreds of tools for project management, change management, graphic design and communications.
