I seem to be living in series of 12.
Born in Jamaica, I spent the first 12 years of my life living on a tree-lined hill with a wonderful view of the sea – supported and surrounded by strong female role models.
My formative years (approximately 12 of them) were spent in Canada where I completed most of my education. At the end of highschool my intention was to go into astrophysics but, in complete contradiction and drawn towards the arts, I chose a degree in humanities and in 2008 I completed an Honours BA in Multimedia and English. My passion for technological advancements and the humanities has found itself in my career managing digital projects that support community and humanitarian work.
My next ~12 years were spent living in Switzerland, Scotland, Vietnam and New Zealand – where I had the opportunity to visit 35+ countries, discovering beautiful cultures, foods, languages and ways of seeing the world. My time in New Zealand, working in public health and being surrounded by Māori culture, is something that will live forever in my heart.
I have now returned to Europe, hoping to spend (at least) the next 12 years building another community of friends, developing my career in humanitarian work, and getting involved in new creative and social sector endeavours – whether through volunteering, working groups or basic hobbies.
If you’re a part of anything interesting, I’d love to get involved – get in touch.
